The St George International Academy is part of the St George International Music Festival which takes place annually and this year is based in Thessaloniki, capital of Makedonia and second biggest city of Greece. The St George International Academy collaborates this year with Synchrono Conservatory of Thessaloniki.
The St George International Academy welcomes the participation of internationally acclaimed artists who teach, give Master Classes and perform either solo with orchestra or in chamber music formations with high level students coming from all over the globe. Lessons attract students for all kinds of musical instruments: violin, viola, violoncello, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, harp, piano as well as voice and chamber music. Concerts are led in various indoor and outdoor venues of Northern Greece. Ancient Greek and Byzantine Theaters, lake shore venues, old castles, concert halls, various archeological places of significant importance and modern amphitheatres are some of them.
The repertoire for each participant is absolutely free. One particular highlight of the Academy is the contribution of "Orpheus Soloists", ensemble in residence of the Festival and responsible for the chamber music Master Classes.
Internationally acclaimed artists, high level students coming from all over the world, the variety of places selected for the performances, the numerous events and the extremely rich repertoire make St George International Academy one of the most attractive and exciting places of cultural exchange and musical excellence.
